The rent screenshot in the LINE group

Scheduled

2 min read By NT²

Your sister asked for the transfer details. You pasted a screenshot into the family LINE group—balance, nicknames, and last month’s transactions included.

The group chat is not a bank branch

Rent is due on the fifth. Your sibling owes half.

In many households—especially where LINE is the family hub—the ritual looks like this:

跟上次一樣,禮拜五前轉帳喔~

You screenshot your banking app. You drop the image into the family LINE group—not a private thread. Everyone sees it: parents, cousins, whoever muted the group except you.

He pays. You long-press delete on your phone.

The copy on his device does not care. Neither does LINE’s cloud backup. Neither does the photo roll if someone saved it “for reference.”

Amara’s story on nt2.me/help/use-cases is the same human moment we told in Split rent without screenshotting banking apps. This version names the LINE group habit—common in Taiwan and Japan—where oversharing is one tap away from the whole family tree.

You only needed two fields

MomentLINE group screenshotStructured Bank share
ScopeFull account screen in a groupOne Bank item — routing + account only
AudienceEveryone in the groupVault-to-vault to one sibling
RetentionScroll up foreverAccept once into structured storage
UpdatesNew screenshot every monthEdit one item; re-share if digits change
Trust“Here is my bank app as a photo”Inbox accept/decline; share passphrase ≠ master password

Your sibling needs digits to send money—not a permanent JPEG next to sticker packs.

How NT² is designed for this

NT² Vault stores rent account details as a Bank item—encrypted on your device.

  1. Store — One entry for the account you use for rent; copy IBAN once; clipboard clears in thirty seconds.
  2. Share — Send that item to your sibling’s vault. He accepts or declines in Inbox—not by scrolling a group chat for last month’s screenshot.
  3. Not your whole vault, not a .nt2backup for a monthly transfer.

Encrypted links still work when the other person will not install NT² yet—one item, expiry you set, share passphrase you choose.

Pre-launch honesty

NT² Vault is in active development and not open to the public yet. This article describes design intent, not a tutorial you can run today.

The fifth of the month will arrive again. Knowing the shape—one Bank item, vault-to-vault accept, no group screenshot—helps when the family LINE pings “轉帳資訊.”

When NT² launches at se.nt2.me, family rent should mean one structured Bank share—not another banking screenshot in the group chat.
